Our Relocation Policies and Terms
Planning a move within the United States requires clear guidelines to ensure a smooth, safe, and transparent process for everyone involved. At Meyer`s Moving, founded in 2009 by Juan Evans, we are committed to delivering reliable domestic relocation services with the highest standards of professionalism. These policies and terms detail our rules, client responsibilities, and conditions to promote efficiency and compliance with federal regulations like those from the FMCSA. By booking with us, you agree to these terms. If anything needs clarification, our team is here to assist.

Booking and Scheduling Guidelines
Early reservations help us provide personalized service tailored to your needs.
- Reservation Process: Request a free quote via phone, email, or our website. A 20% deposit secures your booking and is applied to the final cost. We recommend scheduling 4-6 weeks in advance, especially during peak seasons (May to September).
- Changes and Cancellations: Modifications to dates or services require at least 7 days’ notice. Cancellations within 48 hours result in full deposit forfeiture; earlier cancellations may receive partial refunds minus administrative fees.
- Pricing Structure: Estimates are based on factors like distance, volume, and additional services (e.g., packing or storage). All prices are in USD and subject to adjustment for undisclosed details or access issues.
Preparation and Packing Rules
Proper preparation minimizes risks and delays during the move.
- Client Obligations: Ensure items are ready and accessible. Prohibited materials (e.g., hazards, perishables—see our separate policy) must be excluded. Valuables should be transported personally.
- Packing Standards: For self-packing, use sturdy materials; we offer supplies for purchase. Our professional packing service uses high-quality wraps and boxes. Improperly packed items may limit liability coverage.
- Inventory and Valuation: We create a detailed inventory list. Choose from Released Value coverage ($0.60 per pound) or Full Value Protection (additional fee with deductibles starting at $250).
On-Site and Transport Protocols
Safety is paramount throughout the relocation.
- Access Requirements: Provide clear pathways, elevators if applicable, and parking permits. Delays due to site constraints incur hourly charges of $80.
- Pet and Child Safety: Keep pets and children supervised and away from active areas. We advise alternative care during loading/unloading.
- Conduct Rules: No smoking, open flames, or interference with equipment on-site. Our team adheres to health protocols, including masking and sanitization where required.
Delivery and Settlement Terms
We strive for timely and careful completion at your destination.
- Delivery Timelines: Intrastate moves are often same-day; interstate vary by distance (up to 21 days). We’ll keep you updated on progress.
- Inspection and Claims: Examine items upon arrival and note damages on the inventory. File claims within 9 months with supporting evidence; we process per federal guidelines.
- Final Payment: Balance due at unloading via cash, check, or credit card (3% fee). Overdue amounts accrue 1.5% monthly interest.
Additional Services and Exceptions
Meyer`s Moving provides flexible add-ons for customized experiences.
- Storage Options: Secure, climate-controlled storage available at monthly rates starting $60 per unit. Terms mirror our transport policies.
- Liability Limitations: We are not responsible for force majeure events, pre-existing damage, or client-packed issues. Third-party insurance is recommended for valuables.
- Dispute Resolution: Governed by the originating state’s laws; we encourage amicable solutions but reserve arbitration rights.
At Meyer`s Moving, established in 2009 by Juan Evans, these terms ensure fair
and efficient US relocations.
